About the Journal
The Lex Societas Journal of Law is the distinguished legal publication of Lex Societas dedicated to showcasing the intellectual prowess and legal acumen of high school students. Our goal is to enrich the legal world by heightening the contributions of young lawyers through legal scholarship.
We invite students across the nation to submit articles, essays, and editorials regarding topics in law for publication. We specifically curate a group of written works that demonstrate scholarly excellence, thoughtful research, and a deep understanding of the law in our monthly issues.
We truly believe that the contributions of youth are necessary to the evolution of law in America. Our journal provides an avenue for young lawyers to engage with complex legal issues through writing and debate.
How to Become a Writer
We require all members interested in writing for the Journal to attend our introductory course on legal writing and reasoning. This course will help students learn the fundamentals of legal scholarship: research, argumentation and analysis, and Bluebook citations. Following the lessons, members must write an essay on any topic in law utilizing the skills they learned from the course. Students will then transition into writing for the journal.

How to Become an Editor
Editors are elected based on the quality of their writing, their dedication to the Journal, and their demonstration of leadership. Editors are chosen by the editor-in-chief and the Publication Director. The job of an editor is to guide writers and their pieces as well as refine pieces during publication.
